Evodia is currently recruiting multiple Systems Engineer's with experience in the planning, delivering, monitoring and control of systems engineering processes, artefacts and governance within defence. The roles available are hybrid contract opportunities with 3 days per week required on our customer site in Bristol and the remainder working from home (unless otherwise agreed).

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be accountable for delivering high quality Engineering support and value for money to the business. You will also accountable for delivering the specialist Engineering outputs associated with each agreed task to time and quality and within the costs agreed.

You will be responsible for providing specific technical services to clients, including:

  • Technical leadership and direction of Engineering initiatives or workstreams, taking a holistic approach and focussing on outcomes, benefits and capability.
  • Support and advice to assist the Engineering planning, management and delivery of projects.
  • Critical review of Engineering project material and approach including red team reviews.
  • Development of technical requirements and assessment management strategies and criteria.
  • Advice on technical risk/opportunities management and mitigation/exploitation strategies.
  • Development of Engineering project artefacts to support the entire CADMID lifecycle plus pre-Concept.
  • Production of tender assessment criteria and participation in tender assessment processes as a
  • technical expert.
  • Leadership of workshops and working groups to address specific technical issues and outputs.
  • Sharing of good Systems Engineering practice across the organisation, upskilling others and positively changing the way the organisation thinks, works and delivers.

The SE Consultant is also responsible for effective and professional management of tasks, including:

  • Review and triage of support requests and support to staff in identifying their specific needs.
  • Working with clients to scope and plan tasks, develop schedules and specification of outputs.
  • Managing the internal processes associated with consultant resource and portfolio management.
  • Managing the delivery of tasks, managing change and reporting progress internally and to the client.
  • Quality management of tasks and deliverables including peer review.

The SE Consultant is also responsible for maintaining and developing the consultancy team as a centre of Systems Engineering expertise across Defence, including:

  • Engagement with national and international industry bodies, institutes and standards organisations.
  • Development and governance of relevant standards such as Def Stans or JSPs.
  • Coordination with related programmes and teams across industry and government.
  • Exploiting networks and communities to increase value for clients.
  • Developing and disseminating good practice within the Systems Engineering discipline.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experienced in the planning, delivering, monitoring and control of systems engineering processes, artefacts and governance.
  • Ability to apply Systems Thinking (Capability level downwards) to project challenges driving and coordinating good practice across Defence.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants are required to hold SC Clearance and Due to the timescales involved, the client can only consider applicants with a live and active SC Clearance.
