RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Scope / Task Deliverables

 

  • Programme manager assigned oversight, management and support of personnel responsible to perform as embedded client role
  • Ensure programme objectives are being effectively delivered against P, C,T and industry are held to account
  • Ensure cross team dependencies are clearly understood and are filtered down to each responsible PM owner where applicable.
  • Imbed strategic direction within area of responsibility.
  • Ensure programme governance structure is defined and is in suitable working practice.
  • Fulfil the role of embedded client (programme Management) as per the FCAS joint Engineering Management plan (JPEMP) through working closely with both lead system integrator (LSI) and lead sub system integrators (LSSIs)
  • Act as a key interface between industry and MoD stakeholders across programme & requirements managers, technical SME’s, engineers and commercial officers both within/out of own work package (WP)
  • Manage GCAP and FCAS System of systems component level risks, issues and impediments.
  • Support WP1 Proj. Ld for WP1 through validation of cost forecasting and accrual against the drumbeat to ensure FOO against CT allocation is maintained.
  • Oversight and management of embedded clients and industry activity and progression through review of artefacts and deliverables
  • Support the programme through identification and management of Ad-hoc project management activities
  • Personnel assigned to this role shall have the capability, accountability and authority to specify desired outcomes on behalf of the customer and how those outcomes are planned, managed and delivered within constraints.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Experience of managing complex and broad projects with multiple stakeholders preferably in the Air Domain.
  • Experience in managing a team
  • International collaboration experience, with work with foreign countries
  • Experience of working with a multidisciplinary team and influencing wider stakeholders to achieve your objectives.
  • Experience of managing change effectively within an organisation.
  • Experience of working closely with industry to build strong, effective and cooperative relationships while challenging their delivery.
  • Comfortable engaging with technical SMEs and dealing with technically complex issues and problems.
  • Understanding of MOD systems and processes to manage governance and budgets.
  • Experience with Agile practices is desirable but not required.
