We are working with a leading defence organisation to recruit a DV cleared Project Engineer to be responsible for delivering engineering deliverables and assurance for a tactical communications project. This project will deliver a modern and sophisticated communications system to specialist Commando Force operators to enhance their existing communications capability. This is a contract role starting ASAP until 31/03/2026 offering a hybrid working arrangement of 2/3 days onsite in Bristol and the remainder working from home.
Due to the nature of the role and the timescales involved candidates must already hold an active DV clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be responsible for the development and maintenance of engineering artefacts such as the EMP, GEAR Review Reports and other plans.
- Manage requirements, acceptance, and delivery of the system to the customer.
- Plan and contribute to the development of the equipment safety case.
- Produce and maintain system configuration baseline documentation.
- Produce and assure technical requirements and accept technical deliverables for project elements that are contracted out.
- Participate in identification, selection, evaluation, performance verification
- and demonstrations within their technical area.
EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of and experience working with modern communication systems.
- Professionally Registered status or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- Member of a relevant Professional Engineering / Science Institute or equivalent body.
- Relevant Level 4 (or higher) qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of successful engineering outcomes.
- Technical experience in their discipline or specialist area in a variety of contexts.
- Previous experience of working with UK Commando Force (Desirable)
